Non Invasive Prenatal Paternity Test
This highly accurate, non-invasive prenatal paternity test with 0% risk – a scientific breakthrough in the field of prenatal testing
Our revolutionary non-invasive prenatal paternity test is the safest and most accurate on the market and can be performed from the 11th week of pregnancy onward.
This 100% safe prenatal paternity test carries 0% risk of harm to your baby or miscarriage, unlike many other invasive prenatal paternity testing options. This means that you can be assured of finding out your baby’s father before the birth without fear of damaging the health of either you or the baby.
WHAT IS THE NON-INVASIVE PRENATAL PATERNITY TEST?
It’s a paternity test that is conducted before the baby is born using a simple blood sample from the mother’s arm. Our prenatal paternity test is non-invasive and it places absolutely no stress on the baby. All it requires is a standard blood sample from the mother and a mouth swab sample from the alleged father. It’s as simple as that.
If you are not within our mobile testing service area a kit can also be mailed to you; however, you need to ensure that the blood test is conducted by a qualified nurse or phlebotomist.
HOW ACCURATE ARE NON-INVASIVE PRENATAL PATERNITY TESTS?
- The test gives the most accurate results available, returning one of two possibilities:
- The male tested cannot be excluded as the biological father
- This result will confirm with 99.9% probability that the male tested is the biological father.
- The male tested can be excluded as the biological father
- This result will confirm with 100% probability that the male tested is not the biological father.
The only time we cannot perform the test is if the mother is expecting twins (or more). Or if there are multiple possible fathers and they are close blood relatives.
ADVANTAGES OF A NON-INVASIVE PRENATAL PATERNITY TEST OVER AN INVASIVE TEST
The non-invasive prenatal paternity test offers you the certainty with minimum trouble and zero risks.
Invasive prenatal paternity testing procedures such as amniocentesis or chorionic villus sampling (CVS) are unpleasant and aside from the discomfort of having needles inserted into your stomach and womb, you can suffer adverse side effects from both amniocentesis and chronic villus sampling (CVS). Even worse both of these alternatives carry some risk of miscarriage. Other options, such as DNA testing using samples of amniotic fluid also carry risks.
The non-invasive prenatal paternity test is:
- Safer: non-invasive prenatal paternity testing has a 0% risk compared to a 1% chance of miscarriage with amniocentesis and a 1-2% chance of miscarriage with CVS.
- Quicker and more flexible: non-invasive tests can be carried out any time from 10th week of pregnancy compared to the 15th week for amniocentesis.
- Easier and less stressful: simple blood sample collection rather than use of ultrasound and long needles and invasive methods.
HOW DO NON-INVASIVE PRENATAL PATERNITY TEST WORK?
Non-invasive prenatal tests rely on the analysis of cell-free fetal DNA. This is a completely natural phenomenon where during pregnancy the baby’s DNA begins to show up in the mother’s bloodstream in small amounts. The larger the baby grows the more traces of DNA become available. At around 8 weeks from conception (10th week of the pregnancy) there is generally enough of the baby’s DNA available to perform a non-invasive prenatal paternity test. This is done by drawing blood from the mother and extracting the baby’s DNA from the blood collected. Using the DNA in the mother’s bloodstream also eliminates risk of misdiagnoses from prior pregnancies or miscarriages. The possible father’s DNA can be collected from a simple mouth swab.
While a mouth swab is sufficient to give a result with over 99.9% certainty a blood draw is recommended if possible as the extra DNA obtained from a blood draw allows extra testing to be done increasing the accuracy further still.
Our non-invasive prenatal paternity testing technology analyses over 2500 individual markers (over 5000 if the fathers blood is drawn). This ensures the DNA of the baby can be clearly distinguished from that of the mother allowing highly accurate results.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET THE RESULTS?
The results from your non-invasive prenatal paternity test results will be ready for you in around 9-12 working days (12-16 if the fathers blood is drawn), meaning that you could have your results as early as the 12th week of your pregnancy.
CAN THIS TEST BE USED TO DETECT THE BABY’S GENDER?
The test can inform you of the baby’s gender. However, this requires a blood test from the alleged father instead of a mouth swab. You must specify this when booking or ordering the test. There is a minor fee of $100 to cover additional testing costs.
CAN WE TEST MORE THAN ONE MALE AS A POSSIBLE FATHER?
We can test as many males as requested to help confirm who the baby’s father is. However, it is not possible to give an accurate result if tested males are close blood relatives. There is an additional fee for testing more than one possible father. If any person lives outside of our collection zone we can mail out a separate kit for a small fee.
